Telemark Night at Blackhawk 1/5/10

From: Houssam Nassif nassif@wisc.edu

Hello hoofers

Are we joining Telemark Night at Blackhawk this year?
any telemark people willing to organize the trip?

season starts tomorrow!

Greetings TELE Skiers!
The ski season is off to a great start! I hope you have been out enjoying it! Keep doing the same snow dance that you have been doing because Telemark Night begins in less than 3 weeks! A special Thanks to those Tele Skiers who helped at our work day this fall - lots of fire wood was split and stacked and we have a couple of new brushed out "tree" runs on the west side.

Telemark Night at Blackhawk Ski Club begins on Wednesday, January 6th at 6:30 PM
We will ski Wednesday nights throughout January and February as long as conditions are good. Details about Tele Night follow.

WHO SHOULD COME?
Telemark Night is open to tele skiers of all abilities! It's a great place to learn, as well as a great place to share your expertise and swap stories with other tele skiers.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
You will need to bring your own equipment, including older gloves to wear on the rope tow. The Club sells glove protectors that you can wear over better gloves otherwise you can purchase a pair of insulated work gloves at Menards or other hardware store. You will also need to bring your own refreshments, including water.

WHEN CAN I SKI?
Skiing will continue every Wednesday night (6:30 - 9:00 PM) during this ski season, weather and conditions permitting. Last year we skied into early March.

WHERE IS BLACKHAWK SKI CLUB?
There is a map with directions to Blackhawk Ski Club on their Web page. Be sure to enter Blackhawk at the second driveway as you head west on Blackhawk Road, where you will find the West Chalet.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Fees for Telemark Night are as follows:

Non-students: $45
Students (must show a valid student ID): $30
Blackhawk members (full membership) - No charge
Blackhawk members (limited membership) - $30
(The above fees will cover Wednesday Night Telemark skiing at Blackhawk for January - March 2010 ski season.)

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?

Email: jana.stewart@gmail.com

WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
Keep doing the snow dance, so hopefully it will be steep and deep all season long; and for those who don't like steep, we have lots of nice gradual runs too!

If you would like to be removed from this email list or know of someone who would like to be added to the list:
please send me an email and I will update my list

See you soon!

Jana
