BROOMBALL! 1/18/10

Hoofers,

Today, being Monday, I would like to see as many people as possible turn out at the Union, lakeside, to shovel snow. Yes, Snow! Brint and I will be making a valiant attempt to bring back the awesome sport of broomball. To play, you need at least a marginal sheet of ice, some broom like things, a ball like thing, maybe some goals, maybe some pillows, and most importantly, Hoofers!

To start with, we will need a lot of man and woman power to clear a rink on Monday, pizza included. We'll also have a grill if you would like to bring your own grillables. Some stoves can be busted out for hot chocolate and tea (provided).

To sum up:

1. Bring yourself and all your friends

2. Bring shovels, lots and lots of shovels, I want an armada of shovels.

3. Skates, if you have them. It may be some sketch ice, but you could be the first to skate it.

To get some max participation going, we'll be down there from 11:00 - 4:00. Maybe later, maybe earlier. Whenever you can come, do it.

The Weather:

Is going to be beautiful, 33F and cloudy. Especially for January. Don't sit inside the day before classes start sulking, come bust a move on the ice.

A tour de force is encouraged.

I just checked out the lake. The snow does not seem too bad, should go quick. In fact, I see us busting out the brooms for a game or two before 2 o'clock. Need be, we'll flood the thing and play Tuesday, after the meeting.

Thank you in advance to all who show up,

Evan

P.S. Sorry for the short notice, I thought I sent this out for Sunday's list serve...technology.
