Sunday Snowshoe/XC ski trip for beginners 1/10

From Connie Lane

------------------

If anyone wants to snowshoe or XC ski Sunday, I'll lead a trip that is beginner-friendly. We'll meet at the PSC at 9 am to get gear, and return by 3 pm. Bring lunch, snacks and water to drink .If you have a thermos, I'd bring a hot drink. Dress in layers and wear warm clothes. Bring $3 for your driver.

We'll go to the Brooklyn segment of the Ice Age Trail (about 30 minutes south of campus), where the local Ice Age Trail chapter is hosting a day of skiing and shoeing on their trail segment. I've worked on this trail segment and it has woods and prairies, gently rolling hills and some flat, marshy areas. It is a nice piece of land.

No trail pass is required for skiing or shoeing. NB for skiers: The trail will not be groomed, but there will be plenty of skiers, so we will not have to break trail ourselves. If you do not know what that statement means, don't worry.

E-mail me directly (by 7 am Sunday at the latest) if you want to go.

Connie
