Ring game this Saturday

From: Bogdan Dzyubak
------------

There is a Ring game at the Governor Dodge State park. If you are not familiar, it is a massive (about 100 people) scale capture the flag game. People dress up in costumes, preferentially related to Lord of the Rings them but almost anything will pass, and run around the park all day capturing flags, trying to get the ring to Mt Doom and otherwise having fun. The game is free to play and even a simple costume will do (though you will get more character points for better costumes, including metal weapons and such).

Date: Saturday!
Location: 4175 State Road 23, Dodgeville, WI 53533 is the park entrance. Further directions coming soon
Contact: Me for now
Price: Only gas money, so around $5-10 depending on the number of people per car.
On this note, drivers are especially welcome. If you know someone with a car - please invite them. So far, I am trying to work out a ride but can not guarantee one.

Note: Dress for the weather - it may be very cold, you will be traversing odd kinds of terrain, and possibly rolling in the mud (just kidding - unless you want to). You may want to bring lunch. The game ends at 5:30 and we can go get some food then, as well.

Cheers,
Hope to hear from a good many of you

  1. just randomly caught this post on the web and thought I would throw some input in quickly. I dont know how long ago this was posted, but it was at least a month ago, considering the last game was Oct 18, 2009.

The game is not free, $8 dollar buy in fee, with signed waiver consent form.

But I am glad to see a post about this from something other than a twitter from a player. Hope you can get all your Hoofer Outing people out there and enjoy the fun! You don't have to be an LOTR nerd to go out and have some fun! Exercise a little, meet some fun people, and act like a kid again!
