From: Paul Davidsaver, Hoofer Council President
------------------
Greetings Hoofers,
I wanted to let everyone know about some exciting open positions on Hoofers Council. As you may know, Hoofer Council is the overall governing board for all of the Hoofer clubs, in addition to facilitating and planning our own events. We are approaching some exciting time as plans for the New Union South, including our climbing wall, are nearing completion, and preparations for the Historic Renovation of Hoofers Wing in MU are about to begin.
Hoofer Council needs to fill two important positions to aid in these endeavors. We have a vacancy for our Vice President of Administration, and our newly created Renovation Chair. The VP-Admin is a Council Executive and is involved in many important decisions and functions of the organization. The new Renovation Chair will work closely with the VP-Admin in helping to coordinate and plan for the renovation of the Hoofer space in the Union Renovation Project.
Both of these positions offer a huge leadership development opportunity and the chance to work with other important Union student and nonstudent leaders. Given the importance of these positions, we have decided to open applications to both Hoofers and Hoofer-recommend people through next Wednesday, Oct. 21st.
Please take a minute to look at both applications and position descriptions. Also keep in mind that you don’t have to be a Hoofer leader to qualify, and that you might know someone who would be a good fit who you could recommend to apply.
These are Presidential appointments, however VP-Programs Mindy Cummings (mjcummings@wisc.edu) and Secretary Nick Clarens (clarens@wisc.edu) will be reviewing all applications and helping in the screening proccess. Please feel free to contact either of them and get those applications in!
Thank you and get out there and enjoy the fall weather before we transition into winter sports!
Best,
Paul
