Here's an invitation to go for BOOD (Beverages and fOOD) at The Brink Lounge after next week's meeting. Especially because my band will be taping on the Mad Toast Live! Podcast & Radio Show. We’ll be featuring some songs appropriate to Halloween for this special show.
The Brink Lounge - 701 E. Washington Ave (below the High Noon Saloon)
Tuesday Oct 27th - 8pm: Ken Lonnquist, 9pm: Water Street Bridge - $5 cover (optional but suggested)
What was born as the illegitimate brain child of Jon Baade and James Kuehl, Water Street Bridge has now turned into a fully grown bastard child of inane proportions. Realizing early on that enough is never enough, these two veterans of stage and studio teamed up with Michi Regier, on fiddle, and Richard Miller, on drums and percussion. Together they blend Celtic, blues, Americana, shanty, jazz, Creole, folk, art rock, reggae, Balkan beats, Slavic dance grooves, comedy and original songs into something that can only be described as “eclectic acoustic.”
Brandishing an impressive arsenal of musical instruments (including guitar, resonator guitar, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, viola, pennywhistle, squeeze box, harmonica, doumbek, agogo, guiro, tupan and bodhran - just to name a few) they bring new life to tales of old, old sounds to tales of today and twisted takes on tales never meant to be told.
Hope to see you there,
Richard
