I am offering a canoe lake lesson this Saturday, 8 Oct, starting at 10:30 AM, and finishing about noon. Meet at the boathouse at the Memorial Union lakeshore. This lesson teaches how to work as a team to make a tandem canoe go where you want. Outing membership required (bring your card to get it signed off if you can). This lesson gives the canoe lake rating needed to go on club quietwater canoe trips, and to canoe on lake Mendota when it is warm enough (which won't be much longer this fall). Dress for the very cold (5 C) weather and possible rain. Leave anything you don't want to get wet from paddle splash behind. We will stay close to shore to allow rapid egress in case of accidental upset. Room for about 5 more paddlers: email me to sigh up.
